From the back cover:

Lauren and Kayla are the perfect high school couple –except they aren’t actually a couple.  Smart and sarcastic Lauren is secretly in love with her best friend, Kayla, one of the most popular girls at school, who changes partners (male and female) like other girls change shoes.

One autumn afternoon, the two 17-year-olds wander into Manhattan’s newest vintage clothing store, Déjà Nous, and agree to take after-school jobs at the enticing shop.  On the ride home to queens, Kayla talks non-stop about the wonderful clothes, how much fun she and Lauren will have working together, and the store’s intriguing and beautiful owner, Elizabeth Valiant.

Déjà Nous soon becomes an obsession for the teens, but it isn’t until Lauren starts putting together the puzzle pieces of the Valiant family and recent events that she realizes that she and her beloved Kayla are in danger from a centuries-old curse.

Will Lauren be strong enough to save them both, or will the power of forces she never imagined be stronger than her love for Kayla?

In addition to winning the 2012 Moonbeam Children’s Literature Gold Medal in the Young Adult Fiction — Horror/Mystery category, Immortal Longings was a finalist for a 2012 Golden Crown Literary Society Award in the Speculative Fiction category, and was also nominated for a Lambda award.

The cover, designed by Jennifer Mercer, was also nominated for a Lambda.  Honestly, I <3 this cover so bad. *G*   And, that’s not always the case.  Generally, writers don’t have a lot of say in the cover a publisher decides to use.  So to be gifted with something that takes all the elements of your novel and sums them up in one stunning image is a real joy.  Look closely into the depths of the jewel, see if you notice anything.  And, the font is called Buffy. How great is that?  Especially for someone who published an academic article on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
